IMG_0421.JPG

Hi everyone 🙂 It has been quite a while since I have posted on this blog. The Travel Cafe has been busy with new private event which happened last weekend: The launch of KEEN Trailfit, a new shoes called Terradora especially designed for women to hike outdoor.

2.png

About Trailfit

TrailFit women care about making their exercise part of their lifestyle. Whether its urban hikes down canals and through abandoned areas of a city, or going wild in the countryside at the weekend as long as your getting fresh air, exploring your surroundings and moving your body, you’re part of the TrailFit movement.

TrailFit can be practiced in the outdoors, in can be in the park near your house and it can be in the middle of a city centre at night after work. The Terradora is made to suit every type of trail you find yourself on

Any good revolution requires awesome gear and this is where the Terradora comes in. Not just a trail boot, the Terradora was designed from the ground up by adventurous women, to work specifically for adventurous women.

Cooler x KEEN Trailfit

A lifestyle featuring site Cooler as joined up with KEEN Trailfit to open up a new Trailfit Session which will happen all around April. The first event was held at The Travel Cafe, on 1st of April. The train session was held by Sophie, working with Trailfit to create a new type of fitness for adventure women, who also want to enjoy city life , without giving up the love of the outdoors.

IMG_0420

Three groups of lucky women were selected to join the session on Saturday. They have had a healthy breakfast at The Travel Cafe before before heading out for a truly rad workout with one of the UK’s best adventure fitness trainers.

IMG_0424

They also received a brand spanking new pair of Terradora boots, worth £110, to take home with and take out on their own adventures all year round. Once the workout has been finished, they then came back again to join us for healthy, light lunch. It was great to meet everyone and to see them being so active!

Monmouth Coffee

Monmouth Coffee started roasting and retailing coffee in 1978. At the beginning they roasted in the basement of our shop on Monmouth Street, Covent Garden. They now have branches in Borough Market as well as Bermondsey. Their aim was to source interesting coffees, roast them daily and encourage our customers to taste our coffees before they bought them.

Monmouth Coffee source and roast coffee from single farms, estates and cooperatives. By visiting each farm, they look to establish a relationship with the grower and exporter of that coffee. They believe that where such a relationship exists, quality, quantity and price requirements can be discussed in an open and equal way. They see this as sustainable, fair and equal trade.

Hook Camden serves simple but yet delicious food. Unlike greasy ordinary fish&chips that you normally taste of, Hook Camden managed to pull crispy outside-juicy inside fish&chips by using Japanese breadcrumbs.

They use different fish caught daily and you can also try different flavours of batter. On top of that, they have so many sauces to choose from. So you can always taste something different by different combination of food.

Beers will also go nicely with the fish&chips and not to mention some finger-licking sides to add with your mains.

Not to mention the price- Unlike some of restaurants where they taste nothing but rip you off with huge amount of bill, Hook Camden provides food that taste great but still on reasonable price.

This season they are going to Europe an going to visit London as one of the place.

Britishfoods2_zps18ebafcc.jpg

England used to have worst reputation amongst people. The reason mainly is because during the industrial revolution, labourers tended to prefer quick and cheap food so they could grab a bite and get back to work. This has then been carried on for some time, hence became ‘the English food’.

However, things are different nowadays. People started to look for more delicate, gourmet food where they can enjoy some quality food and pay decent amount for it. In this programme, we are going to film some of the restaurants which gained high reputation from critics.
